NO. 1/8 OF MY FAVORITE IMAGES FROM 2021

This image is from my second long-term photography project, One Two One. It was a dreary February afternoon in The Netherlands. Water was constantly falling from the sky, but never to the point you could call it actual rain. Just enough to get you soaking wet, if you stayed outside long enough. Knowing good images are made in bad weather, I put on my the jacket that was resistant to water the most and hopped on my bike.

I cycled through the countryside, my camera protected under multiple layers of clothing, looking for interesting compositions. This winding trench caught my attention for its diversion from the usually straight lines you see in the Dutch landscape. I hopped off my bike, still protecting my camera and walked down to the side of the water. Just as I got ready to snap, some birds flew up, I probably disturbed them, and the scene was complete.

This print is available in open and limited editions. Each edition comes in three sizes and is professionally printed. Limited editions contain ten prints per size and are signed and dated. Open editions are unsigned and remain available without a fixed edition size.

About the paper

Hahnemühle has been making papers since 1584 and is known for its high quality standard. Photo Rag is a 308 g/m² white cotton paper with a soft feel and lightly textured matte surface, giving prints rich colour, deep blacks and fine detail. It is acid- and lignin-free and highly resistant to ageing. Specifications: 92.5% whiteness, Dmax 1.82, matte gloss level, lightly textured surface, optical brighteners, and 100% cotton composition.

Shipping and fulfilment

Prints are made to order, so please allow approximately one to two weeks for production and delivery. Limited-edition prints may take slightly longer because they are signed before shipping. Shipping costs vary by destination and are kept as low as practical worldwide.
