On a warm summer evening in July, 2020, I am working on a documentary series for the local paper with my friend Thijs. We are looking for people who capture the essence of summer in their lives. Our search leads us to a charming woman who sells dried flowers. She tells us how she wants to share the beauty and joy of summer with others through her floral creations.

While taking her portrait as part of our project, I notice the vibrant colors and textures of the flowers in her hands. I point the vintage 135mm lens I was using at the flowers and snap some close up shots. The golden light of the evening adds a touch of magic to the scene.
