2024 No. 1 Fine Art Print

NO. 1/5 OF MY FAVORITE IMAGES FROM 2024

Some photographs are about a single subject. This one is about abundance. A dense pile of dried red chillies fills almost the entire frame, turning an everyday market ingredient into a landscape of folds, shadows and variations of red. A small flash of yellow breaks the pattern just enough to make the eye wander back through it.

I photographed this in Phuket, Thailand. What stayed with me was not only the colour, but the almost tactile quality of the scene: dry, layered and slightly chaotic in the best possible way.
