Fish arranged in close formation, seen through a layer that softens, reflects and partly obscures them. The photograph gives you plenty to recognise, but never a completely clear view. Silvery blues, muted browns and repeating shapes turn the display into something halfway between a still life and an abstract pattern.

I made this image in Phuket, Thailand. It is the kind of scene I tend to stop for: practical and everyday at first glance, unexpectedly strange when isolated inside a frame.

About the paper

Hahnemühle has been making papers since 1584 and is known for its high quality standard. Photo Rag is a 308 g/m² white cotton paper with a soft feel and lightly textured matte surface, giving prints rich colour, deep blacks and fine detail. It is acid- and lignin-free and highly resistant to ageing. Specifications: 92.5% whiteness, Dmax 1.82, matte gloss level, lightly textured surface, optical brighteners, and 100% cotton composition.

Shipping and fulfilment

Prints are made to order, so please allow approximately one to two weeks for production and delivery. Limited-edition prints may take slightly longer because they are signed before shipping. Shipping costs vary by destination and are kept as low as practical worldwide.
